John W. Richey (Richie)
was born circa 1839 probably in Scott county, Indiana. He appears to
be the son of George Joseph Richey (1812-1854) and Elizabeth Stark
(1810-1881). John married Susanna "Annie" Applegate on Feb. 28, 1856 in Pike county, Illinois. About 1877 they migrated to Collin county, Texas bringing with them Susanna's sister Amanda Richey and mother Jerusha (widowed 1874). John died about 1893 according to relatives. |

Susanna "Annie" Applegate
was born about Oct. 20, 1836 (or Nov 1836) in Scott county, Indiana. She was the
daughter of James Monroe Applegate and Jerusha Stark. "Annie" died after
1900. There was a "Mrs. Annie Rickey" who died in McKinney on Sept. 1, 1908
at age 71 years, 10 months, and 12 days of malaria. It's assumed this
is the same person. Susanna's Mitochondrial DNA haplogroup is U5a1a1. |
