At a General Council held in the Creek Nation, on the 16th of January 1838, called to gather by orders of the Chiefs of the Upper Towns, for the purpose of ascertaining those in the old Creek Nation now west, who left a great quantity of their property at Wetumpka Alabama, under the promise of their being safely delivered at Fort Gibson, in consequence of it's being on the way about twelve months, a great deal of them was lost and destroyed.
