Mary Box, Prudence Snethen and Muke Box

Mary Box was born in the 1760s.  She was married to (1) Mr. Bowles [or Boyles] and (2) James Box.  Mary's children were: Prudence Snethen (1785), William Bowles (1788+) and Muke Box (1790s) and this is proven by the will of James Box filed in early 1808 in the newly formed Estill County, Kentucky (formerly part of Clark).  Isaiah Burris witnessed the filing of the will. 

There are multiple connections between Walter Burris and Mary Box and Muke Box.  This may indicate a family connection.  We know Mary Box made the 1809 or 1810 migration from Clark County, Kentucky to Montgomery County, Missouri because in 1811 Mary Box was called to testify in court for a case involving David Burris which she would have been witness to or at least known about.   In 1815 Muke Box testified on behalf of Walter Burris in an Indian Depredation claim for events near Boonville, Missouri where they both lived.
