Pleasant Garden Church was organized June 8, 1878 at Blue Ridge in Collin County, Texas by Elders J.H. Gotcher, N. Butler and Deacons J.F. Simmons, Jacob Moore, A.J. Russell and Henry Cameron, with the following members: Elder P.G. Johnson and wife, Sarah Johnson, Minerva Applegate, William Worden, J.W. Richie, Elizabeth Lafner, Mary Walker and W.N. Butler.

Altoga - Feb 8, 1898 - Mrs. Applegate, an old lady who had been sick for several months, died yesterday and was interred in the Altoga cemetery this afternoon.
