John W. Richey and Susanna "Annie" Applegate

 John W. Richey (Richie) was born circa 1839 probably in Scott county, Indiana.   He appears to be the son of George Joseph Richey (1812-1854) and Elizabeth Stark (1810-1881).

John married Susanna "Annie" Applegate on Feb. 28, 1856 in Pike county, Illinois.    About 1877 they migrated to Collin county, Texas bringing with them Susanna's sister Amanda Richey and mother Jerusha (widowed 1874).  John died about 1893 according to relatives. 		 Census Records:

 Susanna "Annie" Applegate was born about Oct. 20, 1836 (or Nov 1836) in Scott county, Indiana.  She was the daughter of James Monroe Applegate and Jerusha Stark.  "Annie" died after 1900.  There was a "Mrs. Annie Rickey" who died in McKinney on Sept. 1, 1908 at age 71 years, 10 months, and 12 days of malaria.  It's assumed this is the same person.

Son Louis A. T. "Doc" Richey was born Feb. 1857 Pike co., IL.  Louis died Aug. 26, 1925 in McKinney and was buried Pecan Grove cemetery, McKinney, TX.  
Son James J. "Jim" Richey was born July 1861 Pike co., IL.  He married Mary Elizabeth Head in 1909. James apparently died between 1920 and 1929 [no record].  Mary died July 24, 1920 in McKinney and was buried in Pecan Grove cemetery, McKinney, TX.  
Son Henry Clay Richey was born circa 1863 Pike co., IL.  He married Lucy Moselle Evans (Aug. 26, 1880 Memphis, TN - Nov. 6, 1939 Franklin co., TX) circa 1897.  Henry supposedly died about 1936 [no record].

  • Willie Richey was born 1900.  Willie died Aug. 24, 1905 Melissa, TX.
  • Thomas Eber Richey was born Feb 15, 1902 Melissa, TX.  Thomas died Sept. 10, 1961 Waco?, TX.
  • Shelby Richey was born Nov. 28, 1910 McKinney, TX.
  
Son Joseph Jasper "Jap" Richey was born circa July 20?, 1965 Pike co., IL.  He married Carrie Lee Smelser Wood (March 21, 1875-Feb. 4, 1921) on Oct. 29, 1907.  He remarried to Eula __?  Joseph died July 11, 1929 in Dallas at age 63 years, 11 months and 20 days and was buried Pecan Grove cem., McKinney, TX.  
Son William? Francis? Richey was born 1866-68 Pike co., IL.  
Dau. Amanda Richey was born circa 1871 Pike co., IL.  She supposedly died about 1893 [no record].  
Son Charles Brice Richey was born circa 1876 Pike co., IL.  He married Daisy Dell Jett circa 1896.  Daisy died before 1926 in Atlanta, Cass co., TX.  Charles remarried to Lillie McCoy in Feb. 1926.  Charles died Nov. 20, 1940 in Shreveport, LA and was buried in Summer Grove cemetery, Shreveport, LA.
