Thomas Burrus died in 1799 in Surry County, North Carolina.		 Notes:
Son? William Burrus was born before 1752.  
Dau? Justinia Burrus was born about 1758 or earlier.  Justinia married Stanwix Hord (s/o Mordecai) on 20 April 1786 in Surry County, North Carolina.  They moved to Overton County, Tennessee by 1805.  "April 18, 1805, Stanwix Hord and Justinia wife of Jackson County, Tennessee, convey 400 acres of land in Henry County, Virginia to John Greenlee" [per "The Hord family of Virginia"]

Stanwix died 23 Aug 1828 at Garret's MiIl, Overton County, Tennessee.  Justinia died about 1839 in Overton County, Tennessee.  The 1836 tax roll of McMinn County, Tennessee lists land under "Stanwic Hoard heirs"

Son? Jacob Burrus was born before 1764.  
Son? John Burrus was born before 1767.  
Son? Thomas Burrus Jr was born before 1770.  Thomas married Elizabeth Hale. Thomas died in 1802 in Surry County, North Carolina..  
Son? Isaac Burrus was born about 1776-1780.  Isaac married Frances Ferguson before 1800.  Isaac married Nancy Martin before 1810.  They moved to Tennessee by 1811. 

Isaac died after 1830 in Overton County, Tennessee.

  • James Monroe Burrus was born 4 March 1822 in Overton County, Tennessee.  He married Jestine Davis.
  • Job Burrus was born about 1823 in Tennessee.  He married Clartinda.  Job died about 1859 in Missouri.
  • Sarah Burrus was born about 1829 in Tennessee.  She married Henry Harris on 1 Aug 1847 in Cooper County, Missouri.
