This 1886 roll is based on an earlier 1870-71 Creek Self-Emigrant roll. The ages listed on both rolls are presumably the ages as of 1870-71 but could also be the age at the time of emigration. The earlier roll with many eliminations and corrections was finalized by G.W. Stidham in 1886 and used as the basis for payments to the Creek "self-emigrants". For more information see Senate Ex. Doc. No. 198
" Names of Creek Indians reported to the office by G.W. Stidham, special delegate, who emigrated, themselves and others, from the old Creek Nation, in Alabama, to the Creek Nation, Indian Territory, west of Arkansas, at their own charge and expense, and who subsisted themselves 12 months after their arrival."
