Sir

I have the honor, herewith to transmit to you my property return with the necessary Vouchers, also my Official Account Current with Abstracts and Vouchers, showing a balance of $41,965.50 which added to $25,000 I have from General Armistead, he having received since I left, to be turned over in due time, will, I have no doubt be sufficient for our present necessities.

I enclosed to you at New Orleans a Muster Roll of the party of Indians, that I sent on to Arkansas, & I herewith transmit the receipt for money I paid the Chiefs & Warriors under the "Treaty" as instructed of General Armistead.

There are now at this and adjacent Posts about 350 more Indians, which we are making ready to set out - and I would refer you to Major Hitchcock who, left here three days since for Washington, for a full report of all facts connected with the Indians; he is in possession of every particular & will be able to make a much more satisfactory report in person than could be understood by any written information that I could offer - Nothing of importance has occurred since we left except, that eight of Coo-a-coo-chee's band have come in with the intelligence that he, with all he could find of his people would be here very soon.

The above amount in my hands is only subject to a deft of $3350, the amt agreed upon for transportation of the Indians to Arkansas.

I am very respectfully
Sir obt servt
